I am so excited yesterday when I got home. Yesterday was...as my friend describes, "the anniversary of when I went umbilical cord bungee jumping."

Why was I excited? As you can see from the post, I received the infamous magenta bubble envelope!

I apologize for the bad lighting above. I was so excited that I just took a picture so I could take a look inside. :D

This month's theme?
"For 2013, are you getting back to basics or giving yourself an entire makeover? Either one, it's perfect for the "Super Stars" Glam Bag we have for you in January. Create your new year, new you, or new look with the awesome star products from January's brands: Pacifica, SOHO, Sexy Hair, Josie Maran, and Nailtini for your chance to win an amazing prize from them all! "
New year = new makeover? I suppose that this can be a new start to trying out products and give yourself that extra oo-mph! But for me, Ipsy bags are like my present to myself every month! :D

This month's bag is a simple dark navy blue-black bag. What I love most about this bag? The blue lining and the stars!

Contents!

#1. Soho Professional Concealer Brush ($7.99 USD)

The brush is dense which is great for those creamy concealer formulas. The bristles are also soft!

#2. Pacifica Tuscan Blood Orange Body Butter Intensely Moisturizing Cream ($7.00 USD / 2.5 fl oz)

This body butter smells amazing; a juicy citrus peel that definitely spreads throughout the room (in a good way). It leaves my hands soft, but unfortunately, I feel like it leaves a layer on my skin because it doesn't get absorbed as fast as some of my other lotions and creams.

#3. Big Sexy Hair Spray and Play Volumizing Hairspray ($10.00 USD / 1.5oz)

I'm a little nervous about this hairspray, because I don't use hairsprays. But it'll be interesting to see if this can tame my baby hairs.

#4. Nailtini Straight Up Nail Color Lacquer in Frappe ($13.00 USD / 0.5 fl oz / 15mL)

This nail polish is a soft baby peach-pink. It's very natural and most definitely school or work appropriate. I can see this color being a gorgeous French Manicure.

I am so excited about this product! Saving the best for last! I have always wanted to try this, because I have heard so many great things about this product! A-hem, tips + baby tips! Will most definitely keep you guys updated on this one!

    1. Hi Steph!

That's awesome! I have only swatched the polish on a few fingers to test out the color. So far...it actually looked better than I thought! I'm glad you're enjoying all the products!

Doesn't that body butter smile divine?! :D

    1. Hey girl!

That's why I love the Ipsy/Myglam bags! I used to subscribe to Birchbox, but you either get a little sample of something I haven't heard before (but it's supposed to be expensive), or I get a granola bar :/

These bags are actually really great! :D

And yes for the Tuscan Blood Orange. I was literally sniffing my hand as I was taking pictures! Haha I hope that doesn't make me sound crazy :p

    2. I think my favorite was the time I got a box of designer band aids...'cuz designer band aids are better. Or was it the mini bar of SOAP. or the Men's cologne sample. Or the stupid (yes, I said stupid) paperboard containers they keep telling me to reuse and give to other people. And yes...seriously...I do not subscribe to a beauty box to get chocolate covered potato chips. Imagine that! LOL :-) but this is my last month. I just wanted to get enough points from the survey to get the Amika hair mask I absolutely loved!! Byyyye bye Birchbox!!!!!!!!!

Oh, you aren't crazy!!! I received the box set one year for christmas that had the body butter, candle, solid perfume and matches! It was a very good smelling time :-)

    3. oh nooooooooooo!!!!!! I went to cancel and I can't since I signed up for a year. Boo.

and I accidentally typed 'chocolate covered potato chips'...that was a mistake. Should read 'chocolate covered potato chip'...as in singular...really ONE chip????? LOL Do I sound bitter enough yet?!!!

    4. Designer bandaids? That sounds...interesting. O.o

I use the paperboard containers for drawer/makeup storage. I have to give it to them..they ARE pretty sturdy. and LOL @ chocolate covered potato chips hahahahaha I didn't even hear about that...but I remember getting a granola bar, and my first reaction was...what?!

Oh I have heard so many great things about the Amika hair mask! It's on my to-buy list...after I finish my Wen set :D

Wait, you can cancel? :( When is the last month then? :/

Yay, I am not crazy, and no you don't sound bitter yet lol But yea, Birchbox needs to up their game in this growing world of "monthly subscription boxes"

    1. Hi Annick!

I know right? :D I was saying to Gummy earlier that in my experiences with other subscription boxes, it seems like they'll give out samples in the 2-3 uses and it's gone type. Most of the samples I have gotten in Ipsy bags are travel/sizes. At the beginning I remember getting a few of those plastic square baggies, but even then, they come in a set and counts as one item!

Are you a subscriber or thinking of? :D

  4. I've never subscribed to these beauty box subscriptions, but it sounds fun!
