Spring 2013

Chanel Poudre Signee de Chanel Illuminating Powder ($68 USD / 8g / 0.28oz) is a limited edition item from the Spring 2013 Precieux de Printemps de Chanel Collection. It is a pale pink beige with refined golden and almost pink sheen.

Packaging: [4.0/4.0]

In Chanel's signature black and gold box, the packaging itself is pretty standard. The click closure is fairly strong. But beware, if you have a (very) full makeup bag, you also run the risk of that opening if something presses against the opening the wrong way!

The imprint however is another story. It is delicate and filled with details, but it is done without being too busy.

Texture and Formulation: [4.0/4.0]

The powder is soft, silky, smooth, and buttery. The shimmer is so finely milled, that it shouldn't cling to any pores or imperfections.

Application: [3.8/4.0]

Using the paddled sponge, you usually get a heavier application of this powder. But since this is such a natural color, it gives the perfect amount of shimmer on your cheekbones. If you use a fan brush, you may need to redip your brush.

Try this as a general highlighter for your brow bones, a swipe on the nose, or your Cupid's bow. It gives a beautiful shimmer.

Longevity: [3.5/4.0]

This powder is not a long lasting powder, but I do still see it faintly after ~5-6 hours. However, after 8 hours, there definitely needs to be a reapplication for me.

This one was tough to photograph. Even in the swatches, it was hard for the camera to catch that light. But this is a gorgeous highlighter.

Those with darker skintones though, this may end up ashy if you apply too much.

Subtle and natural, this one is perfect for spring! Remember that Maybelline Inked in Pink Color Tattoo eyeshadow I just reviewed? Pair that with this for that perfect Valentine's look!

Final Grade! A-

Bottom Line: A natural highlighter that gives you the perfect glow and radiance.

Price: $68 USD

Where to buy: Chanel online, stores, and counters

  1. What a weird applicator! Looks very pretty though - I like fine highlighters like this one. Reminds me of MAC's Lightscapade!

    1. Hi Annick!

I know right? But the paddle shape is honestly perfect. And unfortunately I don't have Lightscapade to compare with, but I did think about it! :D

  3. Totally agree this is such a hard product to photograph!!! I haven't attempted it yet, since it's been so yucky outside and I don't think I have the skills to truly capture its beauty with my indoor setup. You did a great job though!!

Not gonna lie...haven't used mine because all I want to do is stare at it...it's so beautiful and detailed!!!!! :-)
