Lanvin - Eclat D'Arpege Eau de Parfum

Lanvin Eclat D'Arpege Eau de Parfum is a light and feminine perfume. It is a refreshing scent that is delicate and reminds me of flowers in bloom.

Lanvin describes it as follows:

Lanvin Arpège, a feminine masterpiece created in 1927, named for its similarity to an arpeggio—a cascade of successive notes. Éclat d’Arpège, drawing inspiration from the original, reflects the spontaneity of a modern woman.

Notes: lemon leaves, lilac, osmanthus, peach blossom, peony, wisteria, tea, cedarwood, amber, musks.

  • By Lanvin Arpège.

Packaging:

The plastic box slides open like a puzzle piece. Front, top, and back are one piece. Left panel, bottom, and right panel is one piece.

The bottle is glass. The cap is of some sort of plastic, with plastic golden rings.

I expected more from the actual bottle packaging than a giant rhinestone and plastic rings. For such a luxurious brand, I just...wanted more.

Scent:

When I was sniffing up and down the perfume wall in Nordstrom with my friends (this was how I discovered  this perfume), this was the only perfume that made me take a second whiff. I couldn't tell what I just smelled! It was peachy-apricoty with some lilac.

When I couldn't put it down, I knew that I'd have to get it. I got a sample and was addicted. I went home, searched up this perfume, and finally it hit me. That not overpowering, non-synthetic fruity scent is probably from the osmanthus note. This is my favorite part of the perfume!

The light notes transition into a creamy light musk and woody scent. It's very inoffensive to the note. It makes me love this perfume even more.

Some may not like this, because it might be too light and sheer. (Can you describe a perfume as sheer?) And this definitely not a warm, spicy scent!

Longevity:

This is an eau de parfum, so it generally lasts longer than eau de toilette on me. Eclat D'Arpege lasts about 4-6 hours on me depending on if clothing is constantly rubbing against my wrists. (Darn you winter jacket!!)

I have read reviews that this perfume lasts the whole day. Even though technically I can still smell it at the end of a long 17 hour day, it is so faint that I REALLY have to sniff to get it. So I'm not really counting that one; many I got a bad bottle, maybe my skin chemistry just doesn't retain the scents that well on this one. Either way, it just means during my long days, I have to re-apply! But I don't mind. It is a lovely scent and I bought a giant bottle.

Bottom Line:

I am obsessed with this perfume! Sure I just described it as more spring/summer, but I am wearing this baby in the Chicago winter! And I'm always getting compliments!

     - wonderful 'make others sniff the air after you walk by' scent (in the good way of course)
     - not overpowering

     Good for:
          - those wanting a nice fruity floral, spring scent
          - spring/summer
          - ethereal smell

     Bad for:
          - those wanting stronger, muskier scents
          - those wanting extremely long lasting scents

Price: MAX $98 USD (depending on size)

Where to buy: Department stores such as NordstromAmazon will have at a fraction of the cost (please be careful; cheap but may be overstock or almost expired)

  1. This sounds like my kind of scent .. floral, not too strong. I usually spritz a perfume on my wrist and walk around the store. If I keep sniffing my wrist - then I know I like it. If I'm trying to find the bathroom to wash the scent off .. then it's a big - No.

    1. LOL I know what you mean! I'm a crazy person when I'm search for perfumes, I use those tester strips and just keep on sniffing walking around the store narrowing the selection down.

Let me know if you try it! I hope you like it! :D
