Hi everyone!

I wanted to review a product from Simple today. It's a relatively newer brand to hit the shelves and specializes in sensitive skin products. So to start, I have sensitive, combination skin! Luckily, it's no longer as super picky as my high school days (yuck! - I tried everything in the drugstore aisles).

Simple Vital Vitamin Night Cream ($10.99 USD / 1.7 fl.oz. / 50 g) is a specially formulated night cream for sensitive skin with vitamins!

According to Simple's website...
Skin-loving ingredients with multi-vitamin
No harsh chemicals that can upset your skin
No artificial perfumes
No parabens
Dermatologist tested
The cream applied very smoothly and was definitely not greasy! Yay! It absorbed quickly as well which was nice. My sensitive skin had no issues and it also didn't make me greasy in the morning.

The jar was made of thin plastic and was taller than normal creams out in the market. If the jar is too large or tall in this case, it just doesn't seem like you're getting your money's worth from a customer's perspective. But the lid does screw on tightly and nicely, meaning this cream wouldn't dry out.

Bottom Line: A sensitive-skin-friendly night cream moisturizer that goes on smoothly and absorbs quickly. I like that the ingredients do not contain harsher chemicals and it's fragrance free. But for me, it's definitely something I wouldn't use for a Chicago cold and windy weather. Personally, I prefer other night creams over this, but this is a great choice if you have sensitive skin!

Hi everyone!

The August ipsy bag features "Beauty Schooled!"

It's August, and back to school season is in full swing! I may still be in pharmacy school, but it's my last year and I am already into my rotations...so no summer break for me :/ But I must say, back to school sales on clothing is certainly nice!

The bag this month is a super cute round cylinder white bag with orange polka dots! I <3 polka dots! Seriously. I do. I have so many articles of clothing with that pattern...it's kind of embarrassing. Moving onto the products!!

#1. Lord & Berry Silk Kajal Kohl Eye Pencil in Black
Sensual and exotic, that's the effect that Silk Kajal Kohl Eye Pencil delivers. Just like the traditional Kohl, but with the modern ease and control of a pencil. Giving a semi-matte finish that is also smudgeable, Silk Kajal Kohl's soft tip is ophthalmologically-tested and gentle enough to be used on the inner eye.
Super soft to use, it stayed pretty intact too! I personally set it with a brown shadow, so it lasts longer!

#2. Urban Decay Perversion Mascara
Bigger. Blacker. Badder. Urban Decay's ultra-creamy, lengthening and volumizing mascara features triple-black pigments and a deeply nourishing ingredient blend. Perversion Mascara gets you sexy in one stroke, yet it won’t quit until you say when.
So far so good! No smudging or clumping. I doesn't really volumize my lashes...just lengthens them a bit!

#3. Coastal Scents Forever Blush Sample Duo in Fresh and Elegant
Coastal Scents Forever Blush boasts 18 perfectly pigmented, powder blushes with a long-lasting rush of color. Complete with a mirror, these color-packed compacts go a long way.
Suuuuper small sizing! Each blush is probably more eyeshadow size than blush size, so dipping a brush in was kind of difficult until I just took them out of the packaging. But the blushes themselves are excellent! Pigmented and lasts almost a whole day.

#4. Jersey Shore Sun Mongongo Lip Conditioner
Slather on this balm for soft lips all year long. Mongongo oil has hydrating, regenerating and restructuring properties and offers a unique protection from UV and environmental pollutants in skin applications. Mongongo oil is rich in calcium, magnesium, zinc, cooper and anti-oxidants.

Jersey Shore Sun® Mongongo Nutrient Dense Lip Conditioners are 100% natural and USDA certified organic. Fresh organic flavors. No petrochemicals. Nothing artificial. No petroleum.
The balm was light green which threw me off. The scent smells oily with a hint of lime citrus. As for taste...bleh. The lip conditioning wasn't that great on me either. So this one isn't my favorite.

#5. Klorane Dry Shampoo with Oat Milk
Klorane Dry shampoo with oat milk gently revives hair, ridding it of excess dirt, oil, build-up and odor while leaving hair soft, clean and full of volume.
Smells good but didn't really perform any different than other dry shampoos I've tried in the past. Not pleased, but not disappointed either, since now I don't have to buy dry shampoo! :D

And that's it! Do you have to go back to school? Ready for the season? If not...are you taking advantage of back to school sales? ;)

Until next time,

Valentia Skincare - Even Glow Serum Vitamin C 20%
Hello everyone!

Today's product is a product is a Vitamin C serum! Valentia Even Glow Serum is a vitamin C serum. It actually contains 20% vitamin C! I recently talked about Vitamin C and what it does to your skin (post here), so refer that for more information.

According to the Valentia:
EVENS SKIN TONE: Vanquish dark spots and skin discoloration, replacing uneven and ill-textured skin with smooth, wrinkle-free skin that leaves you looking flawless and ageless.
INCREASES GLOW & RADIANCE: Revitalize your skin with essential fatty acids that leave skin smooth and radiant. Smooth skin capable of reflecting light will give your skin a youthful glow and a brilliant shine for that well-rested and refreshed look.
ABSORBS RAPIDLY: Moisturizes skin due to the capacity of the hyaluronic acid to absorb water, thereby increasing fluid between cells, giving your skin a smoother and younger appearance. This intense water absorption means no more dry, peeling or cracked skin, even in extreme weather.
BOOST COLLAGEN PRODUCTION: The presence of Organic Rosehip Seed oil increases collagen production so your skin retains the elasticity responsible for a youthful appearance and prevents skin sagging associated with aging. Enjoy smooth and supple skin that takes years off your appearance.
REDUCES WRINKLES & FINE LINES: Reduce the visibility of fine lines and wrinkles with the help of our foundation 20 % Vitamin C. Special ingredients such us Sea Buckthorn oil plump up the skin, which reduces fine lines and wrinkles in the skin so it is smoother, clearer and younger.
This is the first vitamin C serum I have ever tried, so I was a bit wary at first. We all know how many products that are out there that can be hoaxes. What did make me excited was that this is alcohol free and paraben free! I was also pleased to see that it contained Vitamin E oil, witch hazel, and aloe!

The serum itself is a yellow thick liquid. I only needed 6 drops to cover my face and neck area. It absorbed into my skin quickly when I applied and left a light orange, citrus smell behind.

I have used this product now for 1 week straight, both morning at night, without changing any other part of my skincare routine. On Day 3 was when I first started noticing a change! I noticed a subtle inner, healthy glow on my face that wasn't prior. (And this was with LESS sleep too.) My combination skin did not get oily during the day or night, which was great as well.

I don't know if I would purchase this at the list price of $85, but it's currently on sale for $35, which gives me a bit more motivation as a re-buy. Healthy glowy skin can be achieved with makeup, but when I'll be running around stressed during interview season, I know this little guy will help me out.

Bottom Line: A Vitamin C Serum that did go through with it's promise of an "even glow" with good ingredients without leaving my skin oily or dry!

Lorac Skinny Palette - Navy

Hi everyone! Today I bring you another palette! LORAC Skinny Palette in Navy ($15 / 0.33oz / 9.4g) is more cool toned. It contains a beautiful blue that I was very excited about...but it fell just a smidgen short of my expectations. More on that later. But the palette overall, I love! You can create so many different looks with it!

This palette also comes in Nude and Plum (which I don't think is released just yet). I wonder if it will be similar to one of their holiday palettes called Platinum Status from last year. Click here for my review.

All of the shadows wore all day with no creasing for 6-7 hours without a primer and 10+ hours with a primer. When applying, a dark navy blue had some fall out. The shadow felt almost gritty, so it was a little harder to blend. It also doesn't swatch on the skin as it does on the eyes. The blue looked amazing, but it's hard to get that intensity unless you use a blue base to help.

All the shadows though are soft. A couple were a little powdery, but of no concern to me. Certainly all had good color payoff and minimal fallout! There's a great mixture of matte and metallics in the palette, making it very versatile as well! The packaging is also sleek and travel friendly with a large mirror!

My favorite part about this palette is that you can still create a perfectly good neutral eye, but because of that blue, you can definitely throw that in for a pop of color at the office. Or use the dark blue and black to amp up the look for a night out! Just...use primer.

Bottom Line: Like the Nude palette, this is also wallet friendly and travel friendly. The quality fell short in comparison to Nude, but it's still pretty good on it's own! The color combination is great for neutral or smokey looks! The blue is still a great vibrant blue when you use a primer or blue base! I say if you want it, why not get it? I know I will be getting some good use out of it!

My camera refuses to catch that gorgeous blue and made it a bit more purple.

And that's it! Now to hunt for this Plum palette....Would you buy these palettes?
